2020: the unpredictable year, brought in a lot of changes into everyone’s lives including students and teachers. Schools have been shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic; students and teachers are forced to sit at home. Does that mean learning and progress should stop? No and no. The Cambridge learners learn, explore and understand the world on the virtual platform. When students and teachers thought there will be no school, no fun and no progress; the online classes came to the rescue.
Cambridge International at Delhi Public School, Nacharam took the initiative of continuing learning and encouraging progress through the means of online classes. Video conferencing applications like Cisco WebEx are used for online classes. Running school on the virtual platform is quite difficult and attending it also might seem pretty strange. Still, the learners of Cambridge get every benefit out of the online classes. Lessons are taught through presentations, videos, notes and etc. Students get “Friday Worksheets” every week to make sure that the students are clear with the concepts and they are also thoroughly revised. Every doubt is answered by the teachers. Each and every student gets his or her own monthly report based on their performance. Not only academics but extra- curricular activities and competitions are also held on the virtual platform; making online schooling extremely fun and engaging. Coping with the online classes was cumbersome. Understanding the features of the video conferencing applications, submitting assignments, arranging work space at home and fixing internet issues were only few of the many problems that students faced; but as the days passed both students and teachers got adapted to the online learning. In fact, even virtual assemblies and seminars are being conducted. It’s been proved once more by Cambridge International, DPS that
“When nothing is certain, anything is possible.”
