|Republic Day 2017-18||26-1-2018||The 68th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and gaiety in the school. The celebrations commenced with the customary unfurling of the national flag followed by the National Anthem. The celebration was graced by Chairman Sir Mr M. Komariah, Director Pallavi ma’am, Academic Director Mrs. T Sudha ma’am and other distinguished guests. B. Shrivalli Rashmikaa, Grade XI commerce student of DPS was the Guest of Honour. Chairman Sir Mr. Komaraiah, had honoured Shrivalli with a cheque of Rs.7.45 lakhs for her achievement in tennis. She is the youngest player among the six players representing India to have been positioned in this Global Rank and she is among the top two players representing the state of Telangana.
The school witnessed impressive parade by girls and boys of the NCC contingent. Patriotic dances, thought-provoking speeches and an array of vibrant cultural programmes by students were some of the highlights of the day..

|1&2 Christmas Day||22-12-2017||Christmas celebrations were conducted to bring in the Christmas cheer and usher in the spirit of caring and sharing. Students enacted the Nativity Scene, there were dances by “fairies” and Christmas carols were sung. The highlight of the programme was“Santa Claus” coming in to wish the children, driven by a modern day “reindeer” on a two-wheeler decorated as a sleigh. |1&2 Karate Belt Test 2017-18||18-12-2017||210 students were awarded new belts on 18th December after they successfully completed the test.
The students were awarded the yellow belts. Some of them graduated to the next higher level and were awarded the orange belts. This was a result of a month long hard work and perseverance under the tutelage of their Karate coach. The students were judged by the senior officials from OKINAWA MARTIAL ARTS NATIONAL ACADEMY.

|Annual Day The Pangean Carnival-2017-18||14-12-2017||The tiny tots of Pre primary connected to the hearts of everyone with their fun and frolic and brought everyone close to nature. “The Pangean Carnival” was all about imbibing the care and love for nature and to save the endangered species and also an effort to create the defenders of environment for tomorrow. The Carnival focused on seven different endangered species from seven different continents. The interschool competition held at DPS, Nacharam, exclusively for pre-primary proved that children even at that age are filled with immense positive energy proving the theme very apt ‘Urja’ – The Energy.It was such a great honor to have hosted an event where all the traditional games were reinvented with a twist to suit the taste of todays’ tiny tots. Games such as hop scotch, snake and ladder, rolling the tyres, hurdle jump and tricycle race to name a few were played with more of fun and enthusiasm.As mentioned by one of the teacher from ‘TREE HOUSE, NACHARAM’ in her vote of thanks, that the sports conducted were all related to yesteryears which most of us grew up playing and it is unfortunate that kids of this generation are mostly stuck with mobile phones and video games.The whole idea behind the sports selected was to connect children to the games, which are not only fun but help in developing their physical and mental ability.Finally, the program ended with prize distribution and felicitation of winners. The inauguration was done on a high note as the participants of all the 118 schools did a march with their teams holding their school flags. |GANESH CHARTHURTI||24/8/2017||Ganesh Chaturthi is a ten-day Hindu festival celebrated to honour the elephant-headed God Ganesha’s birthday.Pre-primary had a common assembly were kids were told the story of Lord Ganesha and other important festival related stories. Teachers in their respective classes showed children how to make a Ganesha idol with the clay. And the importance of worshipping an eco friendly Ganesha was explained. Later children moulded small tiny Ganeshas with Play Doh and took them home to continue the celebrations with their family.

The children got laurels to our school by bagging 6 prizes in different categories such as dancing, singing, puzzle solving, recitation, storytelling, etc. These tiny tots added one more feather to their hats.
|TIAMO MOM 2017-18||21-08-2017|| “A MOTHER IS SHE WHO CAN TAKE THE PLACE OF ALL OTHERS BUT WHOSE PLACE NO ONE ELSE CAN TAKE”
Pre-primary celebrated “the essence of motherhood” on 19th August “Tiamo mom” means I Love You Mom in Spanish. All the mothers and grandmothers were felicitated and entertained with various games. The highlight of the whole event was the ramp walk of the grandmothers which became an instant super hit. By the end of day they felt pampered.
Tiamo mom was just not a celebration but also an event for a good cause to raise money for the under privileged children. Parents were encouraged to put up stall of homemade food items, handmade jewelry, and handloom sarees. Thanks to the all the parents who not only had put up stall but donated the money for the cause.
|Independence day 2017-18||15-8-2017||The day commenced by invoking the patriotic fervour and blessings of the Almighty. The mellifluous song was followed by the welcome address given by Principal. The hoisting of the National Flag was a solemn affair. Students from various classes waxed eloquent about their concept of independence and what India means to them. Students of Classes I & II , did a beautiful dance on the concept of “Being an Indian”, the band display by students of Class IX was much appreciated. |KRISHNASHTAMI||11-8-2017|| Krishna Janmashtami, also known as Gokulashtami, krishnashtami or otherwise simply known as Janmashtami, is an occasion celebrated in honor of Lord Krishna’s birth anniversary every year.
Kids of paradise were dressed as Radhas and Krishnas and reminded us of the brindavan.
The icing on the cake was the performance of Janmastami skit on “Bala Gopal”.

|Rakhi activity||03/8/2017||Raksha bandhan also popularly known as Rakhi was celebrated with high spirits to create the awareness and importance of the Indian festivals. In the common assembly, the teachers told the mythological story of Lord Krishna and Draupadi to explain how this day actually originated. Also performed the ritual of tying rakhi. Later the children were involved in handmade rakhi making activity.

The semi and final matches were held under the flood lights. Cash prizes of Rs.25000 and Rs.20000 for winners and runners in all the 3/categories. DPS-Nacharam were the winners in the U/13, U/15 and the runners up in the U/17 category.
